Porsche has finally released the first teaser video of the 2014 Macan, ahead of its world debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Described as a compact, concentrated and intensive sports car that is practical but never ordinary, the Macan will have a sharply contoured side profile with a sporty sloping roof line.
At launch, the Macan Turbo will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 engine which develops 395 hp and 550 Nm of torque, while the Macan S will feature a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which produces 335 hp and 420 Nm. There's also an entry-level engine but there's no word on whether it will be a four- or six-cylinder. All engines will be mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Porsche Macan is scheduled to go into production in December and the mid-level S version will have a starting price of $52,000.
