Volvo has officially announced the V60 Sportwagon will be available in the United States with three engines.
Set to go on sale in January, the base V60 will be powered by a 2.0-liter T5 four-cylinder engine which produces 240 hp and 349 Nm of torque. Next, the mid-level version will come with all-wheel drive and a 2.5-liter T5 five-cylinder that develops 250 hp and 360 Nm of torque. Lastly, the range-topping V60 R-Design will have all-wheel drive and a 3.0-liter T6 six-cylinder engine which creates 325 hp and 479 Nm of torque. According to Volvo, the V60 R-Design will be the fastest and most powerful wagon in the company's history.
"This is an exciting time of transformation for Volvo and shows our Swedish heart is beating strongly," said Volvo Cars of North America President and CEO John Maloney. "The V60 signifies our first step in a gradual move toward powerful, highly efficient, four-cylinder engines across the entire portfolio of our vehicles."
