This edition is described as a clean break from the crowded 3-Series. To better delineate the new mid-range to the upper segments, here is the arrival of the BMW 4-Series Coupe, expected in the coming weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show (scheduled for October 10 to 22), and it will arrive in the group dealerships in October.
The BMW 4-Series Coupe, which brings together the heritage of the 3-Series Coupe (including the newly retired M3, which from 2014 will be replaced by the expectation M4), differs from the latter for an even sportier and more "aggressive" version, giving to the car-body (lower than 20 mm and wider than 50 mm): an increasingly dynamic feature - the result of the new design also givesa wider front and is tapered to the almost "flush"tires of the fenders. The trend has particularly inclined windshield and rear window - which promises to maintain a high level of finish and roominess. It can "almost" be described as a sedan, in particular with regard to the capacity of the luggage compartment (445-liter).
The new BMW 4-Series Coupe will be declined at the time of the launch, in versions of 184 hp turbo diesel 420d, 430d and 435D, and petrol models like: 428th with 245 hp and 435i (both with xDrive). Just the BMW 435i Coupe is given, at this time, the attention of Munich, as evidenced by the official images that anticipate a couple of weeks the debut in Frankfurt and less than two months, its entry into the showroom.
The car, which while awaiting the arrival of the M4 brings with it the title of more powerful Series 4 Coupe and has the stylistic imprint to the BMW 4-Series Coupe concept that was displayed last January at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
The new 435i Coupe is equipped with the known 3.0-liter 6-cylinder in-line petrol and aluminumcrankcase fromtge classic longitudinal placement, direct fuel injection system and the continuously variable Valvetronicvalve, which delivers 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque already at 1,200 rpm. These are the values declared by BMW Performance: top speed 250 km/h (electronicallylimited), 5.4 seconds required for the acceleration 0 - 100 km/h, and fuel consumption at the average cycle that oscillates between 7.9 and 8, 1 liters of petrol per 100 km (depending on the type of fittedtires), which can be further reduced to 7.3 to 7.4 liters per 100 km if the car is equipped with the 8-speed Sport automatic transmission available on request.
