Hyundai has teamed up with the EGR Group to build the Yellowcake Veloster Turbo that will be unveiled at the SEMA Show in November.
Designed for time attack races at night racing circuits, the Yellowcake Veloster Turbo has an unique Yellowcake exterior, a Wurton roof-mounted LED light bar and DPE 3-piece lightweight racing wheels with Toyo Proxes R888 semi-slick racing tires. There's also an ARK coil-over suspension, an AEM strut bar and Brembo brake upgrade.
For the interior, the Katzkin-developed cabin comes with Takata racing seats, a chrome custom roll cage and Takata harnesses.
Under the bonnet, the 1.6-liter turbocharged direct-injected 4-cylinder engine has been equipped with a MagnaFlow exhaust and an AEM intake. This, along with tuning from Bisimoto Engineering, allows it to produce 250 hp.
"Veloster Turbo provides an ideal tuning platform for enthusiasts who want to modify their cars," said Mike O’Brien, vice president, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. "EGR created a very special night-focused time attack car that perfectly showcases Veloster Turbo’s inherently sporty DNA."
