Ferrari has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated 458 Speciale at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 458 Speciale is designed to appeal to drivers who are looking for a focused sports car that offers extreme driving emotions. It features new bumpers, new side sills, redesigned rear grille and new rear diffuser as well as dual exhaust pipes rather than the three of the 458 Italia.
Motivation is provided by a 4.5-liter V8 engine which produces 605 hp at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The Italian carmaker says it's the company's most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 engine ever, managing to provide 135 hp per liter. Compared to the 458 Italia, the Speciale loses 90 kg and gains 35 hp.
Thanks to these upgrades, the 458 Speciale can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just three seconds, while 0-200 km/h takes 9.1 seconds. It has managed to lap the Fiorano test track in 1 minute 23.5 seconds, making it 1.5s quicker than the 458 Italia.
