Porsche has recently unveiled the 2014 911 GT America, a race car based on the 911 GT3 Cup which currently exclusively runs in the Porsche Supercup series.
Designed exclusively for the United Sports Car Racing GT Daytona class, the GT America features lightweight bodywork with aluminum-steel composite construction, a Cosworth digital dash and a roof rescue hatch. There's also a unique rear wing for maximum aerodynamic balance, 380 mm slotted and internally-vented steel brake rotors which are decelerated by four- and six-piston aluminum calipers.
Motivation is provided by a rear-mounted 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that develops 470 hp. It is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission with pneumatic paddle shift system and electronic throttle.
The 911 GT America will be delivered starting in October and pricing starts at $269,000.
