According to a recent report, Porsche is currently developing a 2 2 supercar which is based on the mega-expensive 918 Spyder.
Automobile Magazine says the model will be dubbed the 984 and use a stretched and reinforced version of the 918 Spyder's carbon fiber chassis. It would allow engineers to install two rear doors and two rear seats.
Chief designer Michael Mauer has created a stunning full-size concept and it is said to have a 911-inspired greenhouse with a daringly low roofline, air intake scoops neatly integrated into the flared rear doors and three body-color air extrusion bars between the rear window and the fixed wraparound tail spoiler.
Under the hood, the 984 is rumored to feature a mid-mounted 4.6-liter V8 engine which produces approximately 700 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed PDK transmission.
If the Porsche 984 is green-lighted, it could be launched in 2017 and probably cost approximately €350,000 ($467,460 or £299,595).
