Lexus LF-CC racer to compete in Japanese Super GT

Lexus has announced their new LF-CC-based race car will compete in the Super GT Series GT500 starting next season. It will replace the current SC 430 and has already been tested today at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan.

As a small reminder, the production LF-CC will go on sale in 2015 and is expected to be available as a coupe and cabrio. It will be based on the same RWD platform as the new IS and GS models, probably using the IS’s shorter wheelbase and the GS’s wider track. Most likely, it will be a hybrid, using an updated version of the GS’s 350h drivetrain which develops 300 hp.
