Honda has revealed the NSX Concept-GT race car which will enter into the GT500 class of the Super GT Series Round 5 this weekend at the Suzuka Circuit.

The dedicated racing car is based on the Acura NSX concept and complies with the 2014 regulations on GT500 vehicles set by the Japan Automobile Federation. It is powered by a mid-mounted 2.0-liter inline direct-injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine working together with a racing hybrid system.

The NSX Concept-GT features a wide body kit which includes a carbon fiber front spoiler lip, a huge rear wing and side vents. There's also a lowered suspension and multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires.

As a reminder, the Acura NSX is scheduled to go on sale in 2015 and will be powered by a mid-mounted, direct-injected V6 engine mated to Acura's Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system that includes three electric motors. This system "enables instant delivery of negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering to achieve a new level of driving performance unparalleled by current AWD systems."
