Tesla has delivered the Model S to their first customers outside of North America. The deliveries took place at an exclusive event at the company's showroom in Oslo.

The sedan, a Signature Edition, was acquired by Norwegian Frederic Hauge who was also the owner of the first electric car imported into Norway back in 1989. He said "As Europe's first owner of the Tesla Model S, I am very proud to be a pioneer with absolutely no risk. (...) I have waited long and been frustrated at times, but it means nothing anymore, now that I've got my own Model S. This car is a 'gamechanger' in terms of transport, energy and the environment. For me as environmentalist, this is a great day."

The American electric car maker also revealed that upcoming event deliveries for customers in Europe are planned later this month in Zurich (Switzerland) and Tilburg (the Netherlands).
