Honda has officially released the first pictures and details of the 2014 Civic Tourer, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the Civic Tourer is the production version of the Civic Wagon Concept displayed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. It has a familiar front fascia with angular headlights and LED daytime running lights. There's also a floating roof, big wheels and wraparound taillights.

Inside, the cabin boasts class-leading interior room and the ability to hold up to 1,668 liters of luggage. The rear seats fold down in one easy movement and the interior trunk floor has been raised to create a completely flat area when the seats are folded down.

Under the hood, two engines are available, including a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbo diesel with 120 hp and a 1.8-liter i-VTEC gasoline with 142 hp. Both engines come in manual or automatic transmission.

The 2014 Honda Civic Tourer will be built in the United Kingdom and will go on sale in Europe from early 2014.
