Opel has recently announced plans to offer a bi-fuel LPG variant of the Adam which can run on liquefied petroleum gas and gasoline.
The 1.4-liter ecoFlex engine produces 87 hp and consumes just 6.9-liter per 100 km (34 mpg US or 41 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of only 112 g/km when running on LPG. Compared to a similarly powerful gasoline engine, fuel costs are around 50 percent lower.
Thanks to the space-saving installation of the LPG tank under the floor in the rear, full luggage compartment capacity is also preserved. The additional LPG tank can hold 35-liter and allows the Adam to have a range of around 500 km in the combined cycle. In bi-fuel mode with activated gasoline tank, it will do up to 1,200 km.
The Opel Adam LPG is already available on order and German pricing starts at €16,150 (VAT included).
