BMW has recently unveiled a special editon of the M5 in Japan, dubbed the Nighthawk, which will be available for order exclusively in August.
Dressed in Frozen Black Matt, the M5 Nighthawk is distinguished by a kidney grille in dark chrome finish, adaptive LED headlights and matte black 20-inch M light-alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the two-tone interior comes with Merino leather seats, an individually-numbered badge and carbon interior trim (door trim and instrument panel).
The high-performance sedan has also been equipped with the Competition Package which includes dedicated settings for the suspension, steering and M dynamic mode. There's also a lane departure warning system, a sports exhaust system and M carbon-ceramic brakes.
Motivation is provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 575 hp and 680 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed M DCT transmission that allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
Limited to just 10 units, the BMW M5 Nighthawk has a starting price of ¥18,200,000 ($181,800 or £121,740 or €141,470). First deliveries are scheduled for October this year.
