Porsche has officially announced the 911 50th Anniversary Edition will make its public debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary 911, the special edition is based on the 911 Carrera S and will benefit from Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with different tuning to complement the increased track width. It also features a sport exhaust system, 20-inch bespoke alloy wheels and chrome trim strips on the front air inlets, between the taillights and the fins of the engine compartment grille.
Two unique exterior colors are available, including a darker graphite grey and a lighter geyser grey metallic, along with the already available black monochrome. Each model has a two-tone 3D-effect badge on the rear lid with the numbers "911 50".
Motivation is provided by the same 400 hp flat-six engine as the standard version, mated to either a seven-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch PDK automatic. This allows the sports car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (4.3 seconds with the PDK) and hit a top speed of 300 km/h (298 km/h with PDK). Fuel consumption stands at 9.5-liter / 100 km with CO2 emissions of 224 g/km, while the PDK-equipped model returns 8.7-liter / 100 km with CO2 emissions of 205 g/km.
Limited to 1,963 units, the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition will be available at dealers starting September 23 and German pricing starts at €121,119 (VAT included).
