MINI has officially announced the ALL4 all-wheel drive system will be available for the Cooper Countryman and Cooper Paceman from July 2013.
With the enhanced traction, driving stability and ability, the permanent all-wheel drive system helps the driver of the cars to stay in control while driving on snow, sand or slippery surfaces, as well as offering extra grip on twisty roads.
Both models are powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 122 hp and 160 Nm (190 Nm with automatic) of torque at 4,250 rpm. The unit is mated to a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.
The manual Cooper Countryman ALL4 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11.9 seconds (11.7 seconds for automatic), before hitting a top speed of 184 km/h (182 km/h for automatic). It returns 6.9-liter / 100 km for the manual and 7.5-liter / 100 km for the automatic, with CO2 emissions of 167 g/km and 175 g/km, respectively.
Meanwhile, the manual Paceman ALL4 will sprint from 0-100 km/h in 11.8 seconds (11.6 seconds for automatic) on its way to a top speed of 185 km/h (183 km/h for automatic). Its fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels on the EU test cycle are the same as those of the Cooper Countryman ALL4.
