Mercedes-Benz has announced the A 45 AMG will have a starting price of £37,845 when it goes on sale in the UK in August.
Currently available to order, the A 45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which develops 360 hp at 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. Power is sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system via an updated Speedshift DCT seven-speed sports transmission, which allows the hot hatchback to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit an electronically-capped top speed of 250 km/h. In terms of efficiency, it can return 6.9-liter / 100 km (40.9 mpg UK or 34 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 161 g/km.
For an additional £1,530, customers will get the AMG Aerodynamics package which includes a large front splitter with additional flics as well as an AMG rear aerofoil for extra downforce. There's also the AMG Performance Exhaust (£510), denoted by four chrome tailpipes, to provide a more purposeful engine note.
