Kia is recalling 25,000 cars in the United Kingdom due to a potential problem with the brake light switch.
According to the South Korean carmaker, the recall has been announced to fix a potential fault with the brake lights which may not illuminate or may not turn off after the brake pedal is pressed.
The affected vehicles include the previous-generation Carens (built between 2008 and 2009), Sedona (2006-2007), Sportage (2007-2010) and Sorento (2007-2008), as well as some current-generation Sorento, Soul and Optima models.
Owners will be contacted by Kia and the fix will take less than 15 minutes, free of charge. The issue does not affect the working of the brakes or the anti-lock system.
