BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor revealed

BMW has officially announced the Active Tourer Outdoor will make its world debut at the 2013 OutDoor exhibition which will take place on July 12 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Designed to aim at meeting the special needs of outdoor and leisure enthusiasts, the concept combines "comfort and dynamic design with a high level of spatial functionality and intelligent access to BMW ConnectedDrive services."

As a small reminder, the original Active Tourer Concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain which included a 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. It created a combined output of more than 190 hp and 200 Nm of torque, which allowed the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, hit a top speed of approximately 200 km/h and travel more than 30 km on electricity alone.
