Jaguar has officially revealed the 2014 XF which is powered by a new 2.2-liter four-cylinder ECO2 diesel engine.

Available in both Saloon and Sportbrake guise, this engine is capable of developing 163 hp at 3,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 5,500 rpm. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 209 km/h. In terms of efficiency, it returns 4.89-liter / 100 km (57.7 mpg UK or 48 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 129 g/km.

Aside from the revised engine, the 2014 Jaguar XF also gets an Intelligent Stop-Start system which uses a Twin Solenoid Starter (TSS) to shut down the engine when the car comes to a halt and restarting it in less time than it takes for the driver’s foot to move from the brake to the accelerator. There's also an updated satellite-navigation system which packs a smart keyboard, one-way road visualization and more intuitive mapping.

Jeremy Hicks, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover UK said: "The 2014 XF with this revised engine calibration opens up the unique Jaguar ownership experience to a whole new segment. Cost-conscious drivers, business users and fleet managers will be able to enjoy the refinement, luxury and seductive design of a Jaguar while benefiting from its low emissions and high fuel efficiency."
