Chevrolet has announced the 2014 Corvette Stingray will arrive at dealerships across Europe this autumn. In the UK, the sports car has a starting price of £61,495.
According to the North American carmaker, the Corvette Stingray will be fully equipped and tuned to meet the needs of customers in the highly competitive European market. It comes as standard with the Z51 performance package, which includes:
- Enhanced aero package for optimised high-speed stability
- Electronic limited-slip differential
- Specific shocks, springs and stabiliser bars
- Specific performance gear ratio
- Dry-sump oiling system, differential and transmission cooling
- Larger front (19x8.5 inch) and rear (20x10 inch) wheels and tires
- Larger front (345 mm) and rear (338 mm) brakes
Furthermore, the Z51 Performance Pack will feature the latest magnetic ride control suspension (optional in the U.S.) that is tuned for European roads, as well as a performance exhaust and traction management systems.
Motivation is provided by a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that produces 460 hp at 6,000 rpm and 630 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. This allows the car to sprint from 0-96 km/h in less than 4 seconds thanks to a seven-speed manual transmission with active rev matching.
Additionally, several options will also be available, including metallic paint (£600), tintcoat paint (£1,000), navigation system (£1,450) and black aluminium wheels (£550).
