2014 BMW X5 starts at $53,725

The 2014 BMW X5 will have a starting price of $53,725 (including $925 destination and handling) when it goes on sale in the United States, according to the German carmaker.
The standard rear-wheel drive sDrive35i and the all-wheel drive xDrive35i ($56,025) are powered by BMW's multi-award winning 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine that produces 300 hp at 5,800 rpm and 406 Nm between 1,200 and 5,000 rpm.
Meanwhile, the xDrive35d costs $57,525 and features a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six diesel engine developing 255 hp and 559 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,000 rpm. There's also the xDrive50i ($69,125) which uses BMW's latest 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with 445 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
Gasoline versions will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, while the diesel xDrive35d will follow in early 2014.
