Audi has announced the 2014 SQ5 will have a starting price of $51,900, excluding an $895 destination charge, when it arrives in U.S. showrooms later this summer.
According to the German carmaker, the first-ever S variant of the Q lineup is distinguished by revised bumpers, a platinum gray grille and aluminum accents on the mirrors and roof rack. It also features Xenon Plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, a four-tailpipe exhaust system and 20-inch alloy wheels (or optional 21-inch rims).
Inside, the cabin comes with leather/alcantara sport seats, a three-spoke multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel and gray instrument face with white needles. There's also aluminum pedals, a bespoke gear knob and aluminum / black wood decorative inlays. Options include Milano leather seats, ventilated comfort seats and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Power comes from a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 TFSI petrol engine which produces 354 hp and 470 Nm of torque. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system that allows the luxury crossover to sprint from 0-96 km/h in 5.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h.
