Kia has announced the 2013 pro_cee'd GT will have a starting price of £19,995 when it goes on sale in the UK on July 1.
The car will be offered in two trim levels: GT and GT Tech, together with a limited-run 1st Edition available in 500 units, with 50 to be assigned to the UK market. The entry-level GT gets an attractive body kit, dual exhausts, "ice-cube" LED daytime running lights and 18-inch graphite grey alloy wheels with red brake calipers. Inside the cabin, it has Recaro seats, a black headlining and several gloss black trim items.
The GT Tech costs £22,495 and adds a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, a reversing camera display integrated into the navigation screen, heated front seats and steering wheel, an engine start/stop button with a smart entry system, rain-sensing front wipers, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with an ioniser, xenon adaptive headlights and an automatic-dimming rear-view mirror.
The 1st Edition starts at £23,995 and will contain all the features fitted to the GT Tech, plus a number of distinctive signature additions. These include high-gloss black inserts in the 18-inch alloy wheels, high-gloss black door mirror casings, sliding electric sunroof with an automatic roller blind, red ambient lighting with front footwell illumination, floor mats with red contrast stitching and 'GT' illuminated sill scuff plates with edition numbering.
The GT and GT Tech are available in a choice of three colors: Track Red, Fusion White and Phantom Black, while the 1st Edition comes exclusively in Fusion White.
Under the hood, the 2013 pro_cee'd GT is powered by a 1.6-liter T-GDi turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 201 hp at 6,000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, it can accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 230 km/h.
