2014 Range Rover Sport Hybrid confirmed for Frankfurt Motor Show

Stuart Frith, Land Rover's Chief Programme Engineer for Range Rover Sport, has recently confirmed plans to unveil a hybrid version of the 2014 Range Rover Sport this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Accordingly, the greener Range Rover Sport is likely to adopt a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain which includes a 3.0-liter TDV6 diesel with 242 hp and a 93 hp electric motor, developing a total output of 334 hp. It also features a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a 14.2 kWh lithium-ion battery.

In terms of efficiency, the hybrid variant could return 3.3-liter per 100 km (71 mpg US or 85 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 169 g/km.
