A new report from Automotive News is indicating that the next generation Dodge Journey will be launched after 2016.
The model will be built at Chrysler's Sterling Heights assembly plant in Michigan and ride on the CUSW platform which also underpins the Dodge Dart, 2015 Chrysler 200 and Jeep Cherokee.
The outgoing Journey has been built in Toluca, Mexico, in part to allow for export to South America and Europe, where it is sold as the Fiat Freemont. Current trade agreements mean that producing the Freemont in the United States would translate to higher sticker prices for the car in Europe and South America, although moving to Michigan is expected to reduce costs.
