According to a recent report from Car and Driver, Ferrari will introduce the 458 Italia Scuderia at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
This hardcore version will be lighter than the standard 458 Italia and is expected to borrow a few elements from the 458 Challenge race car. It could also utilize knowledge learned during LaFerrari development, including a tuned seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and new gear ratios. There's also Brembo brakes, a stiffer suspension setup and stickier rubber.
On the performance front, the 4.5-liter V8 engine will be equipped with a new set of forged connecting rods, tweaked exhaust, remapped ECU and a redline increased from 9,000 rpm to 9,300 rpm. This allows it to develop around 600 hp from the standard 562 hp.
To cope the extra power, the Italian carmaker will install a rear diffuser which will be able to change position automatically according to speed, lateral g forces and throttle position.
