Acura has confirmed the 2014 MDX will have a starting price of $42,290, excluding $895 destination charges, when it goes on sale in July.
The Japanese carmaker will offer the redesigned MDX with both front- and all-wheel drive (SH-AWD). This base price is for the FWD version and represents a $990 decrease compared to the outgoing AWD-only model.
Standard features include push-button start, Jewel Eye LED headlights, an evolution of the AcuraLink, an eight-inch multi-function display screen, blind spot monitoring, a premium sound system and 18-inch wheels. For $46,565 the Technology Package gains 19-inch alloy wheels, color TFT screen, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and rain-sensing wipers.
The $48,565 Entertainment Package adds a DVD rear seat entertainment system with a ceiling-mounted 9-inch full VGA screen, while the range-topping MDX Advance gets remote engine start, adaptive cruise control, 12-speaker ELS premium audio and bespoke wheels.
Motivation is provided by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 290 hp and 362 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. All trim levels can be equipped with Acura's SH-AWD for an extra $2,000.
