Some new details are starting to emerge about the second-generation Tesla roadster.
According to George Blankenship, Tesla's vice president of sales, the upcoming roadster will be underpinned by cutting-edge EV technology that will "push the envelope beyond what anybody else is doing". He also hinted the car could accelerate from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in less than 4 seconds and have a range in excess of 322 km (200 miles).
There's no word on when the roadster could launch, but it could be on the market in about five years, after Tesla has established its core three-model range of EVs, including the Model S, Model X and an entry-level sedan.
