The first pictures of the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Convertible (WRC) have leaked to the web. It is expected to debut at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show later this month.
Details are limited, but Liu Xu, a Chinese driver, recently piloted the car to a 408.884 km/h top speed at Volkswagen’s Ehra-Lessien test track, making it the world's fastest convertible.
As a reminder, the standard Vitesse is powered by a quad-turbocharged 7.9-liter W16 engine which develops 1,200 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque. It is linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that allows the supercar to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 410 km/h.
