According to a report from Ford Inside News, the 2014 Ford Fusion will be offered with a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine in the United States.
The engine is expected to develop approximately 177 hp and 240 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and feature start/stop. This could allow the Fusion to match or beat the 38 mpg highway of the Nissan Altima.
The 2014 model will also get a number of other changes, including a heated steering wheel, cooled seats on the Titanium, a couple of new exterior paint colors, rear inflatable seat belts and optional Red Brick premium leather.
