Ferrari has recently presented the LaFerrari at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, following its public debut last month in Geneva.
Built to replace the Enzo, the LaFerrari is powered by a 6262cc V12 engine that produces 800 hp at 9,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm, working together with an electric motor providing an extra 163 hp and 270 Nm. This setup creates a total combined power output of 963 hp, with the power being sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This allows the 1,255 kg supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and hit a top speed of more than 350 km/h.
"LaFerrari is the synthesis of everything at which Ferrari excels - performance, style, technological innovation and driving emotions. It embodies the incredible wealth of knowledge built up by the company both in Formula 1 and in designing and building road cars, thereby setting a whole new benchmark for the entire sector," Ferrari's CEO Amedeo Felisa said at press conference. "Ferrari has grown together with Greater China over the past 20 years, and this region is the second largest market for Ferrari worldwide. Launching the LaFerrari for the Asia-Pacific region at the Shanghai International Auto Show reflects how much we value this market."
Production will be limited to 499 units and 50 of them are heading to China. Set to go on sale in October, the LaFerrari has a starting price of €1.3 million.
