To celebrate the North American launch of the 12C Spider, McLaren has released a new short film based on a race between Pikes Peak record holder Rhys Millen and Winter X-Games snowboarder Chanelle Sladics.

Filmed at the notoriously treacherous Loveland Pass in Colorado, the clip shows the duo "racing" down a snow-covered road which is 11,990 feet (3,655 m) above sea level and is the highest mountain pass in the world that stays open during the winter months.

As a small reminder, the 12C Spider is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine which produces 625 hp, linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This allows the supercar to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 329 km/h. In terms of efficiency, it returns 11.7-liter per 100 km (24.2 mpg UK or 20.1 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 279 g/km.
