2014 Kia Forte sedan starts at $15,900 in the U.S.

Kia has officially announced the 2014 Forte sedan will have a starting price of $15,900, plus a $800 destination charge, when it goes on sale in the U.S. within the next 30 days.
According to the Korean carmaker, the entry-level LX version is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder MPI engine which develops 148 hp and 177 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission (from $17,400). The EX trim ($19,400) gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder GDI engine that produces 173 hp and 208 Nm of torque, linked to the automatic transmission.
Standard features include Bluetooth wireless technology, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power windows, air conditioning and heated power-folding mirrors. The optional Popular Package (LX A/T only) adds 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, keyless entry with remote trunk release and a sliding front armrest.
The EX trim is equipped with the remote keyless entry with trunk opener, a sliding center armrest, Rear Camera Display, a cooling glove box and eServices for the UVO infotainment system. Customers can also order the new FlexSteer system that allows the driver to choose between three distinct steering profiles: Comfort, Normal and Sport.
Features found on the optional Premium Package include heated front/rear seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat with class-exclusive air-cooled ventilation, leather seat trim, power sunroof, push button start with Smart Key, 17-inch wheels and a heated steering wheel. Meanwhile, the Technology Package adds a 4.2-inch color LCD cluster screen, HID headlights, LED tail lights and dual-zone automatic temperature control featuring rear center ventilation.
