Jaguar will expand its R performance lineup with the global debut of the 2014 XJR at the New York Auto Show next week.
Described as a dynamic flagship, the high-performance saloon is distinguished by a different front bumper, a ventilated hood, a dark honeycomb grille and side skirts. There's also a sport-tuned suspension and a new set of five-spoke alloy wheels with red brake calipers
Motivation will be provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine which produces 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. Power will likely enable the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds.
According to Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar: "The new XJR epitomizes the three pillars of technology, performance and contemporary design which the Jaguar brand stands for in the twenty-first century, while delivering new levels of dynamic ability in a luxury saloon."
The all-new XJR will be displayed in New York along with Jaguar's newest models, including All-Wheel Drive sedans and the F-Type roadster, which goes on sale this summer.
