Alfa Romeo 4C confirmed with 240 hp, first image of the interior revealed

Alfa Romeo has released a new batch of images and preliminary specs for the 4C, ahead of its public debut in production form at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next week.
According to the Italian carmaker, the mid-engined sports car is powered by a new four-cylinder 1,750cc turbocharged petrol engine that produces 240 hp, with the power being sent to the rear wheels via a TCT automatic twin dry-clutch transmission.
The coupe is just under 4,000 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, 1,180 mm high and with a wheelbase of less than 2,400 mm, be built around a carbon fiber monocoque.
An image of the interior has also been released, showing the cabin which is designed and built for "maximum driving satisfaction". It features various carbon fiber elements used to make the central cell, bucket seats made from composite material and a simple driver-oriented dashboard.
Designed by Alfa Romeo engineers and produced in the Maserati plant in Modena, the 4C will be available for purchase in 2013, marking the return of the brand to the United States and inaugurating Alfa Romeo's global growth plan.
