Mercedes-Benz has revealed a more powerful version of the C63 AMG, named the "Edition 507" which will make its world premier at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the German carmaker, the naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine under the hood is now producing 507 hp at 6,800 rpm and 610 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm, making it 50 hp more powerful than the stock C63 AMG. The increase in power output comes courtesy of the modified inner workings of the AMG engine: the forged pistons borrowed from the SLS AMG, together with new connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft.
Thanks to these changes, the coupe and sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, while the estate does it in 4.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically restricted at 280 km/h.
As standard, the C63 AMG "Edition 507" comes with an even more powerful AMG high-performance braking system featuring composite technology. The front axle makes use of composite brake discs measuring 360 x 36 mm. The brake discs are ventilated and perforated all round and are decelerated by means of six-piston aluminium fixed callipers on the front axle and four-piston fixed callipers on the rear axle. The brake callipers are painted red all round.
Exterior changes include dark-tinted headlamps, an aluminum hood with two air outlets adopted from the Black Series variant and 19-inch AMG light-alloy cross-spoke wheels with 235/35 R 19 front and 255/30 R 19 rear tires. The spoiler lip on the boot lid (sedan and coupe only), radiator grille surrounds and daytime driving lights are all finished in high-gloss black. Available as an optional extra exclusively for the "Edition 507" is the designo Magno Platinum paint finish.
For the interior, buyers can choose between three equipment packages, including Porcelain designo leather/Dinamica, Black designo leather/Dinamica and Black designo leather. An Alcantara-covered sports steering wheel and a special gear shifter will be available as standard.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG "Edition 507" will go on sale in the United States this summer. Pricing will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
