According to a recent report from Autobild, German carmaker Audi is planning to introduce an A3 plug-in hybrid at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Based on the A3 Sportback, the model will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine, an electric motor and an 8 kWh lithium-ion battery. This could allow the car to provide a combined power output in the region of 237 hp and travel up to 50 km on electric mode alone.
The Audi A3 plug-in hybrid is expected to have a starting price of roughly €35,000, which is €11,600 more expensive than the standard version.
