Porsche plans to launch four new models by 2018

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept

In a recent interview with Automotive News, Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller has confirms plans to add at least four new vehicles by 2018, including the Macan and 918 Spyder.

The German carmaker also considers a new sports car to slot between the 911 and 918 Spyder and a sedan smaller than the Panamera.

Matthias Mueller said a decision on the sports car won't be made until the end of next year. If produced, it will likely use the Volkswagen MMB platform which will also underpin the next-generation Lamborghini Gallardo and Audi R8.

When asked the entry-level sedan, dubbed the Pajun (Panamera Junior), Mueller said it "could be a possibility", but he gave no timetable for this plan. If the car is green-lighted, it would compete with the BMW 5 series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

In related news, the 2014 Cayman, which was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, will go on sale in the United States in April.
