According to Car & Driver, Maserati is currently developing a compact crossover to compete with the Audi Q5 and the upcoming Porsche Macan.
The magazine says the model will be more compact than the Levante, which was recently previewed by the Kubang concept, and ride on Fiat's long-wheelbase Compact U.S. Wide platform which also underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Under the hood, it will likely feature the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine as the 2014 Quattroporte.
If everything goes well, the entry-level crossover could be launched towards the end of 2015.
