American supercar maker SSC, formerly known as Shelby SuperCars, has confirmed that the last Ultimate Aero is currently entering production at their facilities in Washington. It is dubbed the XT Special Edition which was originally announced back in August of this year.
The Aero XT is powered by a mid-mounted twin-turbo 6.9-liter V8 engine which produces 1,300 hp and 1,359 Nm of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed SMG transmission which allows the 1,270 kg supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.65 seconds and hit a top speed of 439 km/h.
SSC North America founder Jerod Shelby said "This is the last of the Ultimate Aero legacy and the customer is extremely excited to be the owner of the last one ever built. I have to admit that I am a little sad to know this is the last Ultimate Aero to roll off the line, but that feeling is overshadowed by the excitement I have for the upcoming release of the Tuatara - the future of the company".
The Ulimate Aero will be replaced in 2013 by the new Tuatara which is priced at around $1.3 million.
