American tuner Galpin Auto Sports has announced plans to build a Ford GT-inspired supercar, which is reportedly to be named the GTR-1.
Details are limited at the moment, but the car will boast more than 1,000 hp and customers will be given the option of either a carbon fiber or aluminum body. It will be longer than the standard Ford GT, while the cabin can be customized per client's request.
Galpin is a well-known dealer of Ford products and it was the first dealer in history to sell Shelby Cobra models in the '60s. They haven't hesitated to stand behind all manner of go-faster Mustang models over the past 50-plus years.
