German carmaker Audi has recently announced plans to offer a limited edition of the R8 for the Chinese market.
Called the R8 China Edition, the special edition is available exclusively in Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey and features a carbon fiber rear wing and gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin comes with leather / Alcantara sport seats, an Alcantara steering wheel and an individually-serial numbered aluminum gear knob which will skip all numbers with the number four to "respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers".
Motivation is provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine which produces 525 hp and 530 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the quattro all-wheel drive system via an R tronic transmission which allowing the supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Only 80 units will be produced, with pricing will start at RMB2.33 million ($375,000).
