According to a new report, Ford will introduce a first concept version of the 2015 F-150 at the 2013 North American International Auto Show next month.
Reuters reports that the truck will feature aluminum bodywork and lightweight chassis components which could allow it to weigh up to 340 kg less than the current generation, while the North American carmaker also promises a fuel economy improved by 15 to 20%.
Under the hood, the F-150 will be powered by a new generation of V6 engines, internally dubbed the "Nano" family, in the 2.7 to 2.9-liter displacement range. This engine is mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission.
