The first official images of the Mercedes-Benz CLA have leaked to the web, ahead of its public debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
The sports saloon will ride on the MFA front-wheel drive platform that underpins the third-generation A-Class and shares a lot of its design with the Style Concept Coupe.
Under the bonnet, the CLA will be offered at first with three gasoline engines and a diesel, including CLA 180 with 122 hp, CLA 200 with 156 hp, CLA 250 with 211 hp and CLA 220 CDI with 170 hp. Before the end of next year, the range-topping CLA 45 AMG, which features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 335 hp, will be revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
According to the German carmaker, the CLA 45 AMG will also get a new type of 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
