Following a leak yesterday, MINI has officially revealed the 2013 Paceman John Cooper Works, ahead of its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
According to the British carmaker, the performance-focused crossover gets a more aggressive body kit with an aggressive front fascia, sporty side skirts and mirror caps. There's also door sills bearing the JCW logo, a sports exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the interior highlights include sports seats, a sports steering wheel, dark-coloured dials and piano black interior trim accents.
Under the hood, the Paceman JCW is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine which produces 214 hp and 280 Nm of torque (300 Nm with overboost). Power is sent to the ALL4 all-wheel-drive system via a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 225 km/h with the manual or 223 km/h with the automatic.
In terms of efficiency, the the model averages an EPA estimated 25/31 mpg (city/highway) and 27 mpg combined when mated to a 6-speed manual and 23/30 mpg (city/highway) or 26 mpg combined with the automatic.
The 2013 MINI Paceman JCW will go on sale in the United States in March, 2013. Pricing information will be released closer to its launch.
