Lamborghini is recalling 144 units of the 2012 Aventador in the United States due to an issue with the headlights which apparently don't conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS). The affected vehicles were built from July 15, 2011 through April 20, 2012.
"The affected vehicles may have headlights that can be aimed horizontally but not vertically," said NHTSA in its summary of the problem. "An incorrect headlamp aim could reduce the driver's visibility and possibly blind oncoming traffic. Either condition may increase the risk of crash."
The recall is expected to start on December 17 and dealers will fix free of charge. Meanwhile, owners can contact Lamborghini at 1-866-681-6276.
