Jaguar XF recalled over fuel leak issue

Jaguar-XF

Jaguar is recalling 4,195 XF sedans in the United States to fix a fuel leak problem that poses a fire risk.

The affected vehicles, which include 2010-12 model year XFs equipped with the 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine, may have a fuel tank outlet flange that could crack and cause fuel to leak onto the ground. If the fuel gets near the ignition source, the XF can catch fire.

The British carmaker has received three field reports and 17 warranty claims worldwide, but no reports of accidents, fires or injuries related to the issue, according to documents filed with the NHTSA.

The recall will begin on or before December 7. Dealers will replace the affected fuel outlet flanges free of charge. Owners can contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827 or NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
