Honda has recently announced the ultra-efficient Civic will start at £19,400 when it goes on sale in January 2013.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the hatchback is powered by a new 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine with 118 hp at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which allows the car to return 78.5 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 94g/km.
Available with 3 trim levels (SE, ES and range-topping EX), the 1.6 i-DTEC versions come with newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels. The SE gets electric windows and air-conditioning, while the ES features extras like cruise control. Options for the EX include sat-nav and leather upholstery.
Prices start at £19,400 for entry-level SE models and £20,595 for ES models, while range-topping EX variants will cost £23,175.
