Ferrari has recently announced record sales and profits for the first 9 months of 2012. More specifically, the Italian supercar maker posted a 10 percent rise in revenues to €1,764 billion ($2.25 billion) and a 7.6 percent increase in net profits to €152.4 million ($194 million).

In total, Ferrari managed to sell 5,267 units, up 6% over the same period last year. The United States is still the largest markets with 1,354 units (16% up), while Ferrari sold 566 units (7% up) in China, 504 units (37% up) in the UK, 534 units (9% up) in Germany, 214 units (20% up) in Japan and 274 units in the Middle East. However, sales in its home market of Italy fell to 238 units, down 49%.

"These results confirm Ferrari’s excellent performance in practically all of the 60 nations in which it is present despite the continuing economic climate. Once again the exception is Italy where we have witnessed a drop partly due to the economic crisis, but also to a hostile environment for luxury goods which have long been, and continue to be, an important resource for the country," said Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo. "I am delighted that Eddy Cue, one of the main driving forces behind Apple’s range of revolutionary products, has now joined our board. His huge experience in the dynamic, innovative world of the Internet will be of great assistance to us."
