Audi confirms four new diesel models for US

At the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi will introduce four new diesel models to the U.S. market. An updated Q7 TDI will also be showcased.

The flagship 2014 A8 TDI will hit the market first in spring 2013 and is available with eight different engine options. The new turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine develops 240 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.4 seconds. It returns a fuel economy of 24 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Meanwhile, the A7, A6 and Q5 TDIs will roll into dealerships in the fall of next year and will get the same 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine as the larger A8. All should feature best-yet fuel efficiency, without compromising on Audi's core values of performance, quality and technology.

A revised Q7 TDI will provide 10 percent better fuel economy compared to the normal gasoline engine, from the current car's 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, to an estimated 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
